Weymouth Overview

Weymouth is a classic seaside resort located in the Dorset county of England at the mouth of river Wey and set perfectly in the heart of the Jurassic coast, the World Heritage site. Weymouth has always been UK's popular seaside resorts owing to its miles of sandy beaches and hours of sunshine.

Nestled alongside the Isle of Portland, Weymouth bay offers spectacular views across the harbour and the Isle of Portland. Weymouth's 17 th century Georgian harbour is located close to the town centre and the beach along with an impressive promenade bustling with activity and offering a number of family attractions such as trampolines, Pedelos, donkey rides, swing boats and the traditional Punch and Judy shows.

A number of local restaurants and bars are lined up along the road offering excellent freshly caught seafood and other local food. Weymouth's beaches with shallow waters are excellent for safe swimming, however high safety standards are maintained around the beach by inshore lifeguards.

Other attractions in and around Weymouth include the Lodmoor Country Park with a Sea Life park and Marine Sanctuary, The Timewalk museum in the Brewer's quay complex, Sharky's adventure play zone and the Nothe Fort, a Victorian Fortress with World War II memorabilia.

If you are willing to travel a bit further, you can visit the Isle of Portland with a rugged coastline offering views across the Jurassic coastline. Chesil beach, Portland Lighthouse, the Stone Sculpture Park and Portland castle are some of the other attractions on the island easily accessible from Weymouth harbour.
