Nicknamed "Pompey", Portsmouth combines centuries of history and culture effortlessly in one place making it an ideal destination for visitors who want to have fun as well as experience the history of the place.

Being a significant naval port through centuries, Portsmouth Port is still home to the world's oldest dry dock still in use by the some of the famous ships like the HMS Victory, The Mary Rose and HMS Warrior. Apart from this, Portsmouth's waterfront offers various other attractions such as the Royal Navy museum, many of the old seafront defences up to the Round Tower converted into museums including the Royal Marines Museum and the Southsea Castle.

Most recent additions to these waterfront attractions are the Spinnaker tower (a 552 feet-tall tower with viewing decks) and the big shopping outlet with all major brands at Gunwharf quays. The Blue Reef Aquarium in Southsea is another award winning visitor attraction on the Clarence Esplanade between the two piers. Further inland, you can visit the birth place of Charles Dickens and various War memorials scattered around the city owing to its historic past.
